The Digital Millenium Copyright Act has been the subject of controversy since its inception. The Copyright Office has the ability to exempt limited classes of works from the anticircumvention prohibitions of the Act. The next hearing to decide which classes of works to exempt will be in Washington, D.C. on May 9th, starting at 9:30 am. Further details are available here: http://www.copyright.gov/1201/ Based on published comments, the testimony is likely to prove very interesting.
