I wonder how much longer the American public will be able to endure the compulsory advertising vomiting from DVDs before purchasers stage a boycott. The recent Universal-released Animal House DVD locks out DVD-player controls, forcing viewers to sit through four movie ads before allowing them to see the movie they paid for. Of course, Disney releases are far worse than that. The whole thing is extremely frustrating. I have gotten into the habit of leaving the room to prepare my movie snacks after I press play in order to avoid the commercials. This is not why I bought a DVD player. The first company that promotes a feature to skip straight to the menu options on a DVD will have my business!
