I haven't even made it to the Macworld Expo yet, and already, I've got a list of fantastic products to write about. I wanted to get the word out fast on this: Sonnet has announced a bunch of new accelerators, including the Crescendo/PCI G4 800MHz ($400), which brings a modern 800 MHz G4 to the old PCI PowerMac 7000/8000/9000 series machines. Conventional wisdom tells us that acceleration options top out at around 500 MHz on those old systems, but Sonnet has incorporated a new chip for faster performance. Sonnet has also introduced the Tempo Trio ($180), which crams FireWire, USB 2.0 and ATA interfaces onto a single PCI card. Finally, there's the Tempo HD (starting at $220 with a 20GB hard drive), which consists of a 2.5-inch hard drive mounted directly onto an ATA/133 PCI controller, both easing drive-installation and saving space inside your computer's chassis.
